Following enquiries from the Civic Society, Stockport MBC estates department have informed the society that the planning application for a change of use for the toilet block on the recreation ground to "Class A Retail" will be withdrawn.

The estates department have identified a covenant in the title deed for the recreation ground that precludes the use of the site for commercial purposes.
